Bedtime Energy Clearing


Many of us clear our energy to remove the possible low vibes we picked up during our day, when we feel energetically and mentally drained, or to prepare for a spiritual ritual. Energy clearing can also be a form of self-care that helps our mind, body and spirit to relax. Have you considered clearing your energy before bedtime? Energy clearing for a few minutes before bed can be a simple self-care practice to help you experience relaxation before bed, and prepare for deeper sleep. Once clearing my energy became a part of my regular routine before bed, I noticed that my dreamtime was enhanced.


With the use of either herbs, visualization, gemstones or sound, here are a few suggested ways that will take just a few minutes or less to clear your energy before bed:

  • The most common way to clear your energy is by using sage or palo santo. Light a sage bundle, loose sage leaves or a palo santo stick, waft the smoke around your body or energy field while intending for any low vibe energy to be cleared from your mind, body and spirit. Make sure to extinguish the flame after use.

  • Visualize yourself under a golden shower. While under this golden shower, visualize the golden light washing you physically from your head to your toes. This golden shower is now cleansing your mind and spirit. Before closing this visualization, watch this golden light flow down the drain with all of your worries, making space for your inner light to shine.

  • Using a Selenite wand or a piece of Black Tourmaline in your dominant hand, sweep or rub away energetic debris a few inches from your body. Tune into the feeling of your body as you may begin to feel lighter.

  • Last but certainly not least, with the intention of breaking up energy that doesn’t belong to you and making way for a clearing, clap your hands at least 3 times. I also love doing this during the day while I’m at work. It’s quick, simple and some of my colleagues don’t think I’m insane.
